Post #2 of 2 for today -- Oh, What we will do to see our kids happy....

Ok, let me begin this by saying that we have really stressed to our kids, especially Kyleigh, since she is old enough to understand, the true meaning of Christmas. We talk about baby Jesus all the time and the importance of giving and not just getting, and they have a Christmas movie they watch year round telling the Christmas story of Mary and Joseph. With that being said, we do talk about santa also, and the kids have visited him and kyleigh has let him know what she wants for Christmas. The kids get 3 presents from Santa, since that is what Jesus received, and they get one present from us under the tree. It really helps scale it down it a bit because they get so much from other family too.

Anyways, I ordered Kyleigh a princess tent a couple of months ago out of a catalog because she LOVES to sleep on the floor on a pallot and i thought she would enjoy it. Well, the other day she said something about wanting a Dora tent. I had kind of gotten worried about the tent I bought on line because it was made to go on a twin bed and she has a full bed and i started to get worried that i spent too much on it and that it may not work on the floor and some of the reviews weren't that good. So, i went to target and low and behold they had a Dora tent for 14.99. i was so excited.....so i bought it and returned the princess one. YAY, i am done with my Christmas shopping as of 2 weeks ago......everything is wrapped under the tree......santa's presents are out in the store room.......now i can relax until Christmas.........right????......YEAH RIGHT!

YESTERDAY Kyleigh tells me that she has changed her mind......she wants a BARBIE tent ( she doesn't even have any barbies!!) and i tried to tell her that she had already told santa she wanted a dora one and that she already wrote him a letter too.....but she didnt' remember her daddy mailing the letter.....i tried to tell her that Santa may not be able to get a barbie tent and may only have a dora one and she proceeded to tell me that Santa doesn't have to GET the toys, he has to MAKE the toys. I asked her if she woke up Christmas morning and Santa had brought her a Dora tent and not barbie, was she going to throw a fit? She said NO, but that she was just going to cry. Oh my, what to do. We can't have tears Christmas morning! she did say that maybe if santa couldn't make a barbie one, that maybe he could make a princess one, but that she definitely didn't want a dora one.

SO, today i called every store in longview and looked on every website trying to find a barbie tent. NOONE had one, but Academy (my mother in law called them ) did have a princess one, so i figured i would go get that one after work and that would just have to work. Then i got on EBAY and i found a new barbie tent for 14.99, but i didn't imagine that i would be able to get it by Christmas so i emailed the guy and asked if there was any way i could pay for overnight shipping and explained the circumstances. I didnt hear back after about an hour so i went ahead and ordered it because i figured if their was any chance of getting it by christmas i needed it to ship out today.......then i got an email from the guy at the store that i bought it from and he said he could do overnight shipping or whatever it took to get it to me by christmas, just for me to go ahead and buy it now and to send him my zip code and he would let me know how much extra it would be. So i did just that and then he emailed me back and said great news, he had talked to UPS and with the regular ground shipping it would arrive the 24th! even 3 day upgrade......it would be 24th, and to get it on 23rd i would have to pay another $20! so he assured me i could track the package and it would be here by 24th......i felt like i had bonded with the ebay guy after all this! haha.....so i will be sweating bullets Christmas eve while i am at work.....praying that i have a barbie tent sitting on my front porch when i get home.......i will keep you posted!...man, gotta love a four year old changing her mind at the last minute........i did tell ryan that next year we will take this writing santa a letter and mailing it much more serious, and whew.....i sure hope this is it....i can't take any more stress,.....i work every day until christmas except for monday so no more time for any last minute changes!

I think that is so sweet about the barbie tent... and that of course, Santa MAKES his toys. So precious.

That is what you get for getting your shopping done early!!!! See if you were like me, you would still have 60% of your shopping to do! I still have time for minds to change...just not much time to shop!
